The University of Iowa Lecture Committee (ULC) aims to organize a series of prominent guest lecturers with the mission of enhancing the learning environment and providing unique and thought-provoking experiences for the UI community.

If you have suggestions for speakers, we'd love to hear from you! You can suggest a lecturer through our contact form or feel free to send us an e-mail at lecture-committee@uiowa.edu. Please note that if prior contact has been made with the agent or other representative of the potential speaker, particularly regarding the honorarium, ULC will not pursue the speaker as a part of its regular lecture series.

If you'd like to co-sponsor an event with the Lecture Committee, please send us a message at lecture-committee@uiowa.edu. Some of the application criteria are that the event is free and open to the public, places an emphasis on student involvement, allows for access to the speaker (i.e. a question and answer session), and follows all University of Iowa and Regents' policies.

Call for lecturers

An ongoing chance for students, faculty, staff, departments, student organizations, and non-university entities to propose speakers for ULC to pursue and bring in as a part of their regular lecture series. Please note: If prior contact has been made with the agent or other representative of the potential speaker, particularly regarding the honorarium, ULC will not pursue the speaker as a part of its regular lecture series. Applications available via the ULC website (lectures.uiowa.edu) or the Office of Student Life (145 Iowa Memorial Union).

Co-sponsorship

The Lecture Committee is not currently accepting co-sponsorship applications. We apologize for the inconvenience, and urge you to submit your ideas via the Call for Lecturers (see above). Please watch this website for further updates.
