Joe Quint is a Brooklyn-based documentary photographer. His work has been exhibited in various galleries in NY and San Francisco and his most recent project, “It Takes Us.”, has been published online by The Guardian, NBC News, and PBS NewsHour.
For the last few years, Joe has been traveling the country to tell a diverse story about the impact of gun violence on injured survivors, family members of victims, and the witnesses who - while not physically injured - bear the same emotional and psychological scars as those that were paralyzed or disabled. Joe hopes that “by shining an honest, respectful light on these stories of grief, trauma, and strength - and by allowing viewers to perhaps find a common thread to the story of their own family - people will become inspired to move from a place of inaction to one of action.”
With guest panelist Senator Joe Bolkcom, UNI Professor Dr. Joe Gorton and Amber Gustafson, Iowa Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense and featuring local survivors.
